Coming In 2027: New COEA Continuing Education Courses
Missed a seminar day? In 2027, you won’t fall behind.
For years, COEA has worked with local building departments to provide the continuing education their staff need to renew their licenses. Departments purchase a COEA seminar package, and their building officials, inspectors, plans examiners, and permit techs attend the required courses together, taught by code officials who do the same work every day.
We know schedules don’t always cooperate. Inspections run long, the counter gets busy, and life happens. So for 2027, COEA’s Education Committee has prepared a new set of on-demand courses, giving you a way to complete your hours even if you can’t make it to an in-person class or a live webinar.
The courses are complete and are now in the review and approval process with the state and national agencies that grant continuing education credit. As each one is approved, we’ll announce it here.
Three ways to earn your hours
| In Person Department seminar package |
Your department purchases a COEA seminar package that includes all of the in-person courses required to renew your license. You attend with your coworkers, with real discussion and answers from experienced instructors. |
| Live Webinars | Join from your desk or your home and ask the instructor questions in real time, with no drive needed. |
| On Demand NEW FOR 2027 |
For anyone who can’t make the in-person classes or the webinars. Take the course on your own schedule, start and pause whenever you need to, and finish when it works for you. |
Approved courses, dates, and registration will be posted on our News and Upcoming Events pages. COEA members will also get an email as soon as on-demand courses are available, so make sure your membership is current.
